Recipe Detail
You will need the following ingredients to serve four people:
Black lentils - 200 grams
Water - 1/2 liter
Refined butter -30 ml
Cumin seeds - 1/2 table spoon
Dry chilies - 4 pieces
Garlic - 200 grams
Tomato - 200 grams
Jimbu - 1 table spoon
Chili powder - 1/2 table spoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 table spoon
Coriander - 1 bunch
Salt - to taste
You will also need the following utensils:
1 Chopping knife
1 Chopping board
1 Serving bowl
1 Sauce pan
1 Pressure cooker
1 Ladle
Step 1
Wash 200 grams of black lentils, add 1/2 liter of water and put the lentils to boil in a pressure cooker
Step 2
Boil for 45 minutes or 5 pressure cooker whistles
Step 3
In a sauce pan add 30 ml of refined butter and fry 1 table spoon of cumin seeds and 4 pieces of dry red chilies

Chop the garlic and the tomato into small pieces
Step 5
Add 2 table spoons of garlic and 3 table spoons of tomatoes
Step 6
Add 1 table spoon of the Nepali herb jimbu and 1/2 table spoon each of chili powder and cumin powder

Add the prepared lentils, stir well and add water as desired

Add salt according to taste and boil for 15 minutes

Put the lentils in a serving bowl, chop the coriander and sprinkle over it
